The Immaculate Birth
One Third of the World's Population prefers believing in a Middle East ancient Legend rather than face the Truth revealed by an Ultrasound Scanner.
My cousin, a gynaecologist, told me the following story: one day, at the hospital where she works, a young woman arrived at the clinic with a man. The two apparently came from a Middle Eastern country, and the woman wore a hijab. The girl was ashen, and the doctor, my cousin, asked her why she was visiting. Instead of the woman, the man answered: My sister is sick. It is lasting for more than ten days now. She does not complain, but it is obvious she is suffering. We don't understand if she has pain. After a pause, he added: My sister is still a virgin. We don't want her to be examined. The doctor tried to convince the man to let her check up on the girl, emphasizing that she was a woman herself, but he was firm in his decision. He was neither ready to leave the surgery nor would he allow the girl to be examined.
My cousin first had doubts; then, an idea came to her. She agreed not to perform a gynaecological check on the girl but asked permission to look at her belly. The man consented. The doctor had the woman lie down and asked her to uncover her belly. Through the ultrasound scanner, it took less than a minute for an experienced gynaecologist to understand that the girl was three months pregnant. My cousin told me that, when their eyes met, there was a clear understanding between the two of them. In other words: they both knew. Obviously.
The biggest problem was, as always, the man. What to tell him? My cousin says it was one of the most difficult moments in her career. She was very uncertain. If she had expressed the diagnosis, she would have feared for the girl. For her brother and the whole family, she was a virgin. If she hadn't said it, half a year later it would have come to light anyway.
Since the man continued to refuse to leave the room and allow his sister to be examined, the doctor had no choice but to dismiss them. As they were leaving the surgery, the man asked her what she thought the problem might be. My cousin shrugged her shoulders and said: a miracle will happen!
It's easy to point fingers at that brother and call him uncivilized, uncultured, or sexist. But let's not delude ourselves; we are no different: we, too, insist on believing that a virgin girl can give birth. 2.63 billion Christians1, which is roughly one third of the world’s population, prefer to believe a legend born thousands of years ago in the Middle East that tells of a virgin inseminated by a Holy Spirit. Rather than face the truth revealed by an ultrasound scanner.
Change My Mind!
Dr Joseph Robinette Biden, the second elected Catholic president in United States history, two days after his election to the most powerful office in the world, went to the St Joseph on the Brandywine Church in Wilmington, Delaware, to thank the Virgin Mary for his election as President of the United States of America.
Stay well, and remain where you are. Light will soon return: Happy winter solstice!
We're ready for the summer.
As of 2024, the global Christian population is estimated to be around 2.63 billion. This number is projected to increase further, with expectations of surpassing 3 billion Christians worldwide by 2050. Christians account for approximately 31.6% of the global population.
I'm not sure equating a gynecological ultra-sound with the Virgin-Birth Doctrine is such a good thing. With one we are dealing with biological facts and with the other it is Belief & Faith. And you want your mind changed ? About what ?
I will discuss this further in my Subtrack soon.
